Canellaskis Conducts Shostakovich Coffee

FLORIDA BLUE MASTERWORKS SERIES
Karina Canellakis, conductor
Winner of the 2016 Georg Solti Conducting Award, Canellakis is a conductor on the rise. “She is an astonishing model of a modern musician. Having a contagious command of rhythm, which she signals through her whole body, she is brisk, propulsive and exquisitely detailed.” This great young American conductor leads the Symphony as it presents its premiere of Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 15, “one of the most profound and prescient of post-war symphonies.”
