Hart Bridge will see closure next two weekends
Jacksonville’s Hart Bridge will close from Friday, August 18 at 7 p.m. until Sunday, August 20 at 6 a.m. and again Friday, August 25 at 7 p.m. until Sunday, August 27 at 6 a.m. for bridge repairs and improvements.
Traffic traveling westbound will be detoured to Atlantic Boulevard and signs will direct motorists to the Acosta Bridge then to Broad Street.
Motorists attempting to take the Hart Bridge eastbound will be detoured to Jefferson Street and signs will direct traffic to the Acosta Bridge and Atlantic Boulevard.
The Hart Bridge was opened in 1967 to relieve traffic on the Main Street and Mathews bridges. The bridge is 3,844 feet long and spans 141 feet above the St. Johns River. Approximately 51,500 vehicles travel the bridge daily.
